I have one of these bad boys, and it fits my 5D mk II and 24-70L perfectly, albeit without a lens hood.
According to my Canon lens catalogue, the 24-105 is a few mm shorter than the 24-70, so you certainly wouldn't have a problem with the lens hood off or reversed.
I've never bothered with a lens hood.. on the rare occasion I get flare problems from the sun, I use my hand!
