Hi Guys
Looking at many of the past threads, the Vertex seems to be a well respected backpack. I am about to order one but have only seen the details on the web and read the comments/reviews here. Looking at the sizes it seems to be the one I need both size wise and is a decent quality.

Could I ask an opinion please. I am carrying a 50D, 100-400L IS, 70-300 IS, 90mm macro, 50mm 1.8, 17-85 IS, plus a flash gun and all the bits and pieces to go with the kit. On the outside I am carrying a Manfrotto 055 tripod on the dedicated carrying straps.

Does anyone who uses this bag consider that it will be big enough for this kit, with perhaps a little room to grow as time goes on and more items are added (as we do, even though we tell the wife that we dont need anything else now and have finished spending lol).

Thanks for looking

Trev

Looked at one of these myself, but I like to carry a good few bits apart from the camera, lenses etc and have no need for a dedicated laptop space.
Didn't look to have much room for clobber,food/drink, first aid bits and all the other tat that I want or seem to end up carting about

Maybe we have different needs though, so that's just an opinion based on my wants in a pack

Yes, I dont think I will be carrying much more than the kit. The lap top space will do to carry a waterproof coat and maybe a snack, and a water bottle carrier can be added on the outside if needed.
Thanks for your reply.

I think it'll all fit, I have a Vertex 300 which has bags of room but it is bloody big!

Sounds ok then, just watch out if the laptop space is the bit that rests on your back not to put too much in there
Had that problem with another bag I owned and taught me to get one with proper storage spacet
