Hey All,

Happy new year!!

Does anyone have any luck with OEM LP-6EN batteries or do you all just use originals?

Just managed to treat myself to a new camera and could do with a few spares. Prices seem all over the place as do the claims of mAh!!

Did not know if there are any economically priced batteries out there that are any good?

I use hahnel ones HL-E6 and they seem to do a pretty good job, well better than the 3 for £10 ones. Had them a couple of years now and they still hold a charge OK. I will say though not the cheapest our there, think I paid about £30 each.

I tend to use Duracell ones as a spare, they don't quite have the same capacity as the Canon batteries but they are much, much cheaper

I have 2 Hahnel and 1 original Canon battery which I use in rotation. I haven’t noticed any difference at all in the number of shots taken, but my Canon battery shows a much lower ‘battery health’ in the in-camera thingy than the 2 Hahnel. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy Hahnel again, especially given the price difference compared to Canon’s own.
