LR 5.7 and latest update on Windows 10 unstable?

Just started trying to process some images this afternoon in LR, and it's been unstable, crashing, locking, doing odd things with the brush and also running slow. Anyone else having problems or is it just me?
 
The only cause I recall being mentioned affecting LR performance is if in preferences is set to use GPU acceleration. FWIW mine is turned off.

Oops! It has been a while since I used v5 and thought the GPU acceleration came in somewhere in its dot releases.

As Jeff Schewe posts over on LuLa maybe post there for some insight???
 
Thanks guys. Another couple of restarts & it behaved itself long enough for me to process about 10 images in a row without trouble.
