Quick answer...maybe! :)

Only you can say whether the new features in LR6 are advantageous to your photography, only you can say whether those new features are 'worth' £60 to you. (£60 probably offers more value to a supermarket shelf stacker than to a consultant surgeon.)

More information is needed in order to receive some useful advice.
 
I agree with Tony. Only you can decide the value to you of the new features and compatibility with new cameras as they are released. I already have HDR and stitching software and no plans for a new camera any time soon so there isn't enough new to tempt me, and I've bought every upgrade since the original V1.

I've also considered a CC subscription - currently available at a discounted price : http://www.adobe.com/uk/creativecloud/photography.html - but I have no interest in Photoshop and I despise the notion of renting software or anything else. I don't want my wallet milked in perpetuity. LR5 will do me fine for now.
 
Having your wallet milked in perpetuity is one way to look at it I suppose but for me, the fact that all updates are made available without having to consider whether to buy the next version is good enough reason to be on (the very reasonably priced) subscription.
 
Subscription is not so reasonable if you don't want photoshop. £60 every 18 months to 2 years to upgrade Lightroom or £8 a month. Work it out! Remember point versions are free upgrades anyway.
 
mickyc, the usual way round that problem is to convert to DNG using the free Adobe DNG Converter and then process the DNG files.
 
I've found it an ok upgrade. I do like the face tagging. After spending a while scanning old family slides and trying to work out who was who and where they were taking, being able to both geotag and face tag my images is something I hope someone might one day appreciate :)

Bit gutted really cant think for the life of me why adobe cant get their act together with updates instead of having to buy new software does anyone know if the cc monthly subscription package with do fujifilm xt10 raw files?

Yes can confirm that the CC subscription works well with photoshop and the RAF files,no need to convert to DNG to process

I agree with Graham subscription is the way to go, when you put it in context it's a couple of drinks in the pub or for me a couple of lunch time meals in my work canteen so when you think like that it's not that much for what your getting to enjoy your hobby
 
Its a packet of fags haven't bought for 40 years I could buy Adobe with what I've saved
 
Not enough of an upgrade IMO, unless you want to do HDR or panoramic and don't want to use free software such as photomatix. The ability to brush changes in grad and radial filters is nice tbh, but not worth £60 IMO.

I wish they would add the ability to brush in individual colour changes (hue/saturation), it's the one area I prefer aperture.
