Lubitel 2 Old Russian Medium Format Camera

Here is another one of the old Cameras my Father gave to me before he died.
It's a Lubitel 2 medium format Camera dated from c.a 1959. More than two million were produced between 1954 and 1980.

I recall these in the shops in the late 60's. Sold for about £10 - £15 I think. Cheap route into the larger negative formats.

My dad had one of these, in fact he was a fan of Soviet cameras as he had a Fed 2 and Zenit EM.
Must ask my Mum where they are.

Well my dad never had one and I think thats a great photo of it. the reflection gives it so much depth. Good shot!

I agree it is a good shot of the Camera. Back in 1970 I was working for a Retail Photography Shop in Dundee and we used to sell these and the Price then was £15.00 exactly.

There was nothing wrong with them and for £15.00 it was a great buy even in 1970. Mind you my weekly wage then was only £20.00 a week.

I bought one new for about a tenner 30 years ago, no longer have it.
