Yes
This is not a church!

I'm putting this up as were going up this way this weekend and I found this today and it looks incredible. Has anyone else been here?

Here are a couple of sites explaining how to find it. I will hopefully have some great pics after the weekend!

It is steeped in Authurian Legend and has a lot of Pagan ties, it is said to be the Green Chapel from the poem Sir Gawain and the Green Knight.

It also has legend that Friar Tuck and Robin Hood hid here too.

Should be good, just thought I'd share! (y)

Yes, many times, it will blow your mind!

Crickey, this is only abut 20 mins from where I have lived for 40 years and I've never even heard of it!
Is it easy to find as I think I'm going to have to pay it a visit. Looks like an interesting place.
Is it easy enough to find from the road?

Word of warning though, it gets VERY slippy in there! There's lots of mud if it is wet, so go prepared.
Look up and around the walls, you can actally see the 'Green Man' face in the rocks (outline) you can go all the way through and up some small steps to come out on top of the chasm.

No, its quite a walk!
To reach it from Gradbach, park at the Youth Hostel, map ref 994 661, walk through the car park/stile/steps down to cross a tributary of the River Dane and over a footbridge. Take the footpath up the hill to the right towards Swythamley. At the top of the rise after about 600 meters, turn sharp left (i seem to remember a small, low sign) to reach Lud's Church.
