lumix g or gh whats the difference?

I've been looking a the m4/3's and for someone how hasn't paid much attention to them over the years all the models look confusing? Whats the difference between the g and gh range, they look the same? Then there is the gf and gx. I like the gx or pen looks but with a build in EVF and the om-d sensor, any plans for such a model? Are lumix and Olympus lenses fully compatible?

No. Just stick with your Nikon the size and weight savings aren't worth it

GH - Top of the range, optimised for photos + video. More external physical controls. Built in electronic viewfinder and sturdier build.
G - Mid range, aimed at mainly photos. Fewer external controls, but still fully customisable. Built in electronic viewfinder
GX - up-market rangefinder style but without optical viewfinder. Fairly customisable
GF - smaller, more consumer version of GX

At Photokina Oly will announce OM-D sensored PEN bodies. Won't have 5 axis IBIS but it will be cheap!

Lesn compatibility: there are some issues with some lenses on some bodies, but generally you can use any m4/3 lens on any m4/3 body. I have both Panny and Oly lenses here (mainly Panny it must be said as they seem to have the better selection).

I didn't say i was buying one!

The gh and g still look a little big but obviously you have the view finder. I know pocket-able is open to interpretation but i would prefer the nex6 or xe-1 approach and have a evf build on the edge of the pen or gx model.

I really do like the look of the nex6 and if a get a csc i will only be using the kit lens and a prime in my pocket so not overly worried about the size of the zooms on the nex. I am however worried about there crap kit lenses. What collapsible kit lens is getting the best reviews the Olympus or Panasonic?

Panasonic. But the competition isn't fierce as Oly don't make one

If you are only ever going to use kit lenses, you may be better with one of the super compacts with wide aperture fixed lens but decent sensor like the Fuji X10.

Yeah i know what you're are saying and it is on the short list along with the rx100, but the viewfinder isn't so good and unlike most people i want a evf. I've been pretty amazed at the om-d's iso performance and seeming as though this is going to be in the new pen for EURO400 it looks like a better buy. If they put a build in evf in the pen for EURO600 i would snap there hands off.
