Lumix G1 - Your thoughts?

Hi all,

Anyone had any experience with the Panasonic Lumix G1?

A friend of mine asked me for some thoughts but I know very little about it.

Theres a new one due soon with hi-def video.

I tried one out and it has a digital viewfinder which is not very good quality at all, that's all i have to say about it haha

My niece has got one in place of her Nikon D40 and really likes it due ti it's size. For me I couldn't get on with the viewfinder after my conventional SLR. But if you want compact AND all the SLR bells and whistles it's worth a look.

If you like shutter lag then you'll love the G1

The new one seems to be far too expensive, its being priced at over £1000 compared to a kit with 2 lenses and the G1 for around £600, ridiculous.
