I'm sure a few peeps over at http://e-group.uk.net/ have the Peleng 8mm on their 4/3rds cameras.
Might be worth asking over their?

I've got one which I use with an old Sigma 18mm.
You're right in presuming that you will have to focus manually - you'll also need to meter in manual or aperture priority mode.
I haven't used the combo for a while - if I remember correctly the Sigma gives a bit of a yellowish cast and is a bit soft but nothing too bad that can't be fixed in PS - here's a link to a few pics I took with it on an E-300: http://www.pbase.com/eyespy/sa1
