Hi, not being an expert at all when it comes to the Mac system how much extra would I get from a Mac Mini M2 16GB V M4 16GB? as far as post processing goes, Thanks.
I still use a base-spec M1miniand it copes absolutely fine with anything photo, video or music(multi-track recording with multiple plugins)that I've thrown at it.
(iMac)M2 should be about 10% faster than the M1, but an M4 should be 50% faster than an M2.The M4 will be quicker, but I don't know by how much. I bought the DXO Photo lab 9 to replace my Lightroom as my sub runs out next year but PL9 is very restrictive on a Mac Mini M2 16gd ram when it comes to some of the AI options, I thought maybe the M4 although still only 16GB ram might have done better but seems from what I have read it will be cheaper to update my Lightroom subs next year than buy a system to run PL9. Russ.I have a M2 Pro which is fine for my photo editing. The specs of the M4 are better but I do not need to upgrade. There are a recent post that suggested one of the editing software apps was better with 32gb due the AI functions but this would obviously increase the cost.
What is your current system lacking in terms of performance?
