Mac mini upgrade

I currently run an older 1.66GHz Intel Core Duo 2GB mac mini with Snow leopard.
I use Lightroom and CS4 and it all works well, but I cant have too many things running in the background. I cant run iTunes for example, some brush work in CS4 and it will stall, but it will get there.

In really terms will the 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB of RAM make a significant increase in speed and usability?

it would do, but in all honesty why don't you just upgrade the RAM to 4GB

Edit: just had a look at the new mac mini and by looks of it you would be better upgrading

2GB is the most mine will take.
