Mac Office Word 2008 has stopped spell checking?

The last thing I need when I have a 10,000 word dissertation to spell check.

Anyone have a clue why. It has just suddenly stopped checking. I have checked the preferences and I haven't mistakenly hidden the spelling mistakes.

What version are you on, Sarah? (12.2.4 is the latest version)

This has been an ongoing problem with Office for a while now.

I'm using the latest version. Its a pain in the bum, as I really like the layout of all programs. However, Powerpoint has been playing up recently too.:bang:

Check your System Preferences/International to make sure you have English set here.

You have to hate Microsoft for cocking this up, don't you?

That is why I use Open Office, Oh and the fact that it is free helps
