Picked up a Mac Studio today.

Six year old human for scale.

First thoughts, it’s very fast. Very, very fast. The extra RAM and processing speed makes Photoshop and Bridge absolutely fly.

My only one negative is that it’s not completely silent. There is a very faint hum which most of the time is hardly noticeable.

All in all, a very good upgrade from the Mini.
 
I recently purchased the new M1 Pro laptop otherwise I’d be all over this. It looks like an amazing piece of kit.

Let us know how you get on with it.
 
I've only got the M1 air with 8 gb and quite impressed with that, can imagine the studio will be a touch faster

what specs did you go for ???

What do you mean by hum, is that the fans spinning up ???
 
If I hadn't built a dual CPU big power GPU with 128gb ram I might have gone for one of these.

Yes they're expensive but so is a high spec dual CPU workstation.

I have mine in a fractal 7xl tower and it's knee height on me - and I'm 6ft tall.
 
I bought a i9/64Gb RAM high spec windows laptop for work about 9 months ago, which is great, and had intended it to become my PP workstation later this year, but am now very tempted to go for the Ultra version of this as a longer term solution...
