Macbook and LR

I do not have a Macbook so asking on behalf of a friend. He has paid for The Adobe photography package but is unable to install LR Classic but only LR CC. Is this correct?

I am running Lightroom Classic on a couple of Macbooks, so it should be possible. I guess if the machine is very old it might not be compatible anymore, more details on the error message would help.

My 2015 MBP will no longer run updates of Lightroom or Lightroom Classic as of 2024 (?) not that I use LR or LRC, I am a Bridge and PS user. What does annoy me is the inability to install recent versions on Adobe Camera Raw so no Ai masking because I have an Intel processor not a M processor. As far as I know older, compatible versions of all the software can still be installed.
