Well I was just on TP typing away when all of a sudden my knee started to burn. I lifted up my macbook pro to find that the battery had expanded and was bulging out of the bottom of my computer, outgasing and burning hot. I just pulled the lead and popped the battery off. THAT was close. I think a trip to the Apple store is in order tomorrow !!!! And my leg hurts!

You were in Nudes and Glamour again, were you not?

Its a good job I wasn't! They would have got a lot more of a claim than for a new battery. Silly thing is I have just ordered a new battery so when they replace it tomorrow I will have two new batteries!!

Just rung them and they said bring it in and we'll replace the battery and psu.

Well its now been replaced so I'm happy with that.

hows your leg?

It's fine there wasn't a mark this morning :)

It's funny because the battery was knackered anyway and I had already ordered a new one! So now I have had the old one replaced and in the next day or so I should get another one through the post. I will stick it back on Ebay.

Glad to hear you're alright and no lasting damage was done.

What MBP generation is it? Might be interested in the battery. :D

I'd keep it you will probably need it:)

Battery is an A1189 for a 17" macbook pro. If you are interested let me know on here and I will create an ad in the for sale section. Selling out of the classified is not allowed.

It doubt it, the last one managed nearly 700 full cycles over 18 months. My wife's managed 1111 cycles over 2.5 years so they are pretty good if you look after them correctly and don't follow all the ridiculous old wives tales type rubbish that people come out with
