I have a sigma 105mm and am considering getting a set of extension tubes to enable me to get even more distance from my subject as flies etc seem to fly off if your too close ,my question is am I going to benefit from getting some that enable me to keep auto focus or should I keep using my cheapo ones that don`t, I`ve seem some that claim they keep the ability to use auto focus for £29.99 which does seem very cheap, many thanks Harvey

I got a set of Kenko AF rings to use with my Canon 100 L macro and they are great. They are a bit expensive though, but now there's a whole load of cheaper AF ones that are available. A mate got a set of manual and only used them once and now they are a pen holder on his desk. Too fiddly and too slow and after he borrowed mine for a try he got a AF set straight away.

I'm quite fond of the Meike Helicoid extension tube. (also sold under other brands). It allows AF, and "zooms" between 46-68mm extension. Kind of functions as a macro rail...

Seems well made, mostly metal... I've hung a 150mm f/2.8 macro and D4 off of it...
