Macro landscapes

I've never really done much macro but i thought i'd try some close up moss formations with low powered flash and some natural light behind them.
c&c welcome as i'd be interested to know what i could've done better.

1. My suggestion is that you crop off above and to the right of that part which is in focus: that might draw the eye more?
2. I can see that the fruiting bodies on the "horizon" might be in focus but nothing else appears so to be.

I'm not quite sure what you mean with No1, could you show me?
