macro lens or tubes?

hi fancy trying macro?What lens would you recommend?Could i use my own lens with tube things.Have 50 f1.8,17 -85 and 70 -200 2.8is on a 450d.

A proper macro is a dedicated prime for macro. Not saying u cant have good results with other lenses.

Personally I have the 100 f2.8 macro plus those macro filters from ebay.

Tried using the macro filters together with a variety of other lenses, namely 18-55 kit lens and 70-300 IS but results where not to my liking and eventually ended up getting me the 100. Im really happy with the buy.

But what u choose has to be something u want. Make some research. Here you will get opinions. Eventually you will make your own

Get the tubes first, then if you like macro you can buy the dedicated macro lens and either sell the tubes or keep them to use with the macro lens.
