Has anyone got a recommendation for amid-range priced macro lens for a Nikon D60.

I bought some screw on diopters and not overly impressed with the results so would like to buy a proper lens.

I had a siggy 150mm on a Nikon excellent lens - bit heavy and takes practice to hand hold but good IQ and sharp and internal focus but if you have the budget Nikon 105mm VR
 
the Nikon 105 is a cracker,

unfortunately, i don't use mine enough to justify keeping so am moving mine on, but if you can stretch to it you won't regret it for a second.

when are you selling it craig ?
 
Before I hocked it, I was perfectly happy with the 90mm Tamron. It did everything I wanted for £350, and the IQ is superb IMO.
 
The 60mm is quite a bit cheaper but the best is definitely the much more capable AFS 105mm f2.8G which also makes a great prime lens for other purposes.
