Macro lens

After buying some diopters to try macro shots im now in the mind that i would like a proper macro lens for my D60, just not sure what to get.

Probabaly after mid price range and wondered if anyone could make any recommendations

I have the Sigma 105mm F/2.8, and it is great. I think I paid around £300 for it. That was two years ago, may have gone up now.

Tamron 90mm, sigma 105mm..

Those are two Ive used ona Nikon body and both were very good. The Sigma had perhaps slightly better build quality. Not much in it IQ wise.

I have a Canon 100mm f/2.8L USM IS on the way.. I cannot wait, £700 quids worth of Macro lovelyness.

I would also recommend the Sigma 105mm f2.8 Macro Lens.

Tamron 90mm, love it and considered the bst in the range by some reviews

Thanks guys, already got a Sigma lens and like the quality of that so will have a look at the 105mm.

I had a chance to use both Sigma and Tamron but somehow I felt that the color retention with Tamron is very good. (though you get 15mm less in your length).
I've also used f2.5 the olden day Tamron macros with 1:2 life size and still i feel Tamron outbeats Sigma in dynamic range.
