Macro lens

I want a macro lens

Canon 100mm L IS f2.8
Or
Canon 180mm L IS f3.5

Or any suggestion want a quick auto focus.

Depends what you are shooting. If it's small insect that won't fly away as you get close the 100mm will do but if you are after Butterflies or Dragonflies I would get the 180mm as you don't have to get too close.

There isn't any IS on the 180/3.5 and it's certainly doesn't have quick AF (which you probably wouldn't use for macro anyway).

If this is your first venture into macro then I'd stick with the 100/2.8 and think about the 180 later if you get hooked.

Think I will get a canon 100mm 2.8 L IS and use the saving toward a 24-105

Need shift me 17-40 and 50mm 1.4 first
