Despite having had a macro lens for over 7 months I've not pointed it at a bug until today. Shame on me, I know.

The buggers are twitchy! But there was not much breeze so out of about 70 out of focus or blurred shots I pulled three that I am relatively pleased with.

Hopefully I will recieve my lumiquest softbox tomorrow so I can dial the flash up a bit (and thus the ISO down) for more noise free images.

C&C very welcome.

Thanks!

Hopefully the wind will drop so I can make a second set soon!

Looks like everything is connected and fully working from here ;) 7 mths :nono:

Great set!

Amazing how beautiful these little critters are when you get up close and personal!

Another vote for #2... always in favour of a slightly different take from the norm!

Thanks for sharing.

NB to me... macro lens on list... think this could be an expensive hobby!:p

very nice - esp 1 & 2 - no 3 the bug is a little dark. I use a ring flash for stuff like this - you should have a look at one.

great shots.
what lighting did you use?
hope my first attempts come close to these.
