Ok, I am biting the bullet a bit here and putting out a call to all you Macro lovers to put pen to paper, or rather fingers to keyboards, to write something that other members will find useful. Often on the forums, the same questions are asked time and time again and whilst very few of us have a problem answering those questions repeatedly, it would be nice to have permanent threads to refer to.

Basically the idea is to cover as many areas as possible within the Macro field, so perhaps you might feel you could offer a guide to the various options available in terms of equipment - the range of equipment available, rough idea of costs, and what you can hope to achieve with it - or maybe you might specialise in getting close to critters and beasties and can offer some insight into the best way to first of all find them and then photograph them successfully. Whether you do animal, mineral or vegetable macro photography, your knowledge is what makes this area what it is and help others to progress their own work.

Links to all articles will be posted in this post so they are all easy to find for anyone browsing this section and the actual items themselves should be submitted to the tutorial section so members can find them there too. If you are unsure which section to put it in, please use contact button for advice.

A couple of points:
1-Any pictures you use to demonstrate points will be backed up to the TP server, so should you ever move the pictures or delete them, we still have them to maintain the guide. We will of course not use it for anything else and copyright remains with you. If at any point in the future you do not wish to have your images used, do contact us and we will be happy to help sort it out.
2-this forum area is still only for photosharing, hence this actual thread will remain locked and any questions can be asked again by contacting staff or pm'ing the moderator for the section.

ok, to get us started, there is a thread relevant already.
