Macro Question, Reversing.

Evening all, I'm venturing into having a play with some macro stuff, more just to satisfy my curiosity more than anything else.

I'm planning to try setting something up nice and cheap with the kit I nearly already have... my idea so far is something like this:

canon 70-200mm 2.8 with a 50mm 1.4 reversed on front. maybe throw on 68mm of extension tubes if I can get away with it...

My question is, i'm going to need to get a 77mm to 58mm step down ring to get the 50mm on the front of the 70-200, because of that am I right in saying I'm defiantly going to get a horrible circular vignette on the images? would it be better to get a lens with a filter size of 77mm to reverse to avoid the problem?

I'm a little bit lost as to if this is all going to work if you could not already tell... I would really appreciate some guidance :)

EDIT: Just read on my painful google quest for information, that the extension tubes should combat the vignette? is that true?
