Hello all.

Still grasping the knowledge o become a good togger...

Now, I want to start doing some nice close ups...
I have a 18-55 kit lens, and a 70-300 Tamron Macro Lens.

I was wondering if anyone happened to give me a run down on how to take Macro shots?

For example, how far do I actually need to be away from said subject...? and whats the difference between Marco and normal on my lens?

Cheers all

Okies, I think I miss spelled Macro lol,
oops.

So my Tamron 70-300mm F4/5.6 DI LD Macro is only a close up lens, rather than a Macro lens?

Your Tamron will give you 1:2 magnification where as a true macro lens will give 1:1 ,

1:1

1:2

1:2 is still good enough for larger bugs like butterflies, and your Tamron will shoot at the longer end giving you a decent shooting distance. Practice with that first before considering the expense of a true macro lens.
