OK, I know there are a number of threads enquiring about which are the best photography mags, but I'm looking for something a bit more specific.
It seems that there are heaps of 'tog mags out there which are very Photoshop -heavy, in that they all dish out a free disc of Photoshop tips, and many of their pages are filled with the same, and not enough to do with actually taking the picture in the first place.
I picked up "PhotoPlus" (being a Canon user) for a few months, but found it a bit elementary, although it is good if that's what you need. I've also looked at "Digital SLR Photography" (as opposed to "Digital SLR User") and was quite impressed; had some interesting articles and tips. Do many people rate this magazine, or is there something out there that's better? Basically I'm looking for a publication that is more orientated towards tips and techniques, real world experience and expert advice (e.g. interviews with profressionals) relating to the use of cameras themselves. I'm of the opinion that spending more time getting proficient with what you're capturing through the lens and spending less time having to tart it up on your PC/Mac is what it's all about. If I wanted to learn how to use Photoshop I'd buy a PS user guide or a dedicated PS magazine.
Do you get me?
