What is considered to be the best monthly mag for photographers, a general interest mag, Ive been looking at digital photographer, but if i try them all theres so many it will cost me a fortune LOL, i wouldn't mind a few pointers to narrow it down a bit :)

If you're a wildlifer, then I would highly recommend Outdoor Photographer.

For beginners, any of the mags would be ok but tend to go over the same ground every 6 to 9 months, except Outdoor Photographer.

For more advanced stuff, including mags which review pro level equipment and give business advice, Professional Photographer is hard to beat..

Swings and roundabouts really - the beginner mags do cover each other and the articles are very repetitive, so I tend to look at each monthly mag when they come out and I'll buy if there's something interesting in it..

They are all pretty useless when you compare them to places like this, DPReview, YouTube and the like.

The news in them plus reviews are about 1 to 2 months behind and the tutorials are better seen on YouTube in moving form.

Just my 2p

As in the other thread I like Practical Photography but I'm a novice. One thing to look for is a market stall selling pervious month editions cheap. I check out our local one every now and again, last month I got 6 mags for £5 (£1 each or 3 for £2.50).

thanks all, ill prob buy a couple mentioned and see what they're like

I find them all much the same, If you find one you like, the offers on 12 month subscriptions can be pretty good, monopods, camera bags etc

I'd put myself in the novice bracket also and find that Digital Photo suits my needs but as has already been said many cover much he same content.
