Magic Lantern Firmware for Canon cameras

Hi,

I put it on my 550D and looks very useful. The one thing that I really liked was the instant full zoom into the centre of an image with just one press of the zoom button whilst reviewing images.

Control of the audio volume settings when using video.

Only used it a couple of weeks and easy to install and uninstall, it just sits on your memory card rather than over writing the camera firmware ;-)

Excellent custom firmware, I don't have any use for video and use it completely for photos. Love the motion detection function. Leave the camera set up with this option to capture wildlife, retreat to a safe distance and then return later to see what you have managed to catch.
 
I've been using it regularly on my 550D for the last year. I wouldn't like to be without it now I'm used to it. Video features are excellent especially colour peaking and magic zoom which is also very helpful when using manual lenses as well.

I can see why Canon are afraid of the Magic Lantern guys getting their hands on the 1 series cameras.

I also can't live without it on my 5d mk ii so handy. Also mate the ML guys said they wouldn't ever do a firmware for the 1 series.

That's the feature I dislike the most :D
But I can put up with it, it's a foible for me and the other advantages far outweigh me being a grumpy old man :)

I have it on the card that's in my 550D and have had it there for about 8 months now. It'll stay there, too.
I've yet to put it on my 60D. I'm going to work through what Canon offer on the 60D first. A lot of what I used ML for on the 550D, Canon have on the 60D. However, there's other features that Canon don't offer which I use now and then, so no doubt ML will go on the 60D at some stage. The already mention motion detect and also the intervalometer spring to mind, for starters :)
 
I have the alpha 7d version running on my cf card but am eagerly awaiting the full version as the alpha lacks alot of the features. Never had any problems running 7d or 550d versions and for extendend timelapses its a god send.
 
Had it on my 60D for a while, great for timelapse and HDR, but it was too buggy for me, plus in liveview my screen was soo laggy it was unusable. It also developed a fault whereas my camera was stuck in 2 sec timer mode, so had to uninstall it. Maybe when it is more stable I will have another go.
