Hi guys,

As the winter draws in and brings the early nights with it, I fancy trying a few lunar shots. I've done a couple before, but seemed to get a bit of focus creep at full extension.

I wondered if anyone knows of any decent magnifying adapters I could run on my Nikon D7000 with the above lens?

I used one of these with a doubler extn so shot below photo at 2600mm

and managed photos like this of the moon

of course it depends on how close you want to get (without walking on it;))

This was taken in freezing cold weather to get a clear sky. I had to guess the moons path and wait for it to appear in frame. Being this close DOF out of the question so I focused on the moon edge mainly, full on would show no depth of craters as on the left of picture

At the outset it was very hard to get this as the moon appeared to race across the sky and everything had to be done in manual mode with no light to work with
.
Would i attempt it again? no way once is enough
