Male Cuckoo perched on concrete post

Great photos, Paul! Nicely lit with great poses. Have you considered cropping out the barbed wire? My eyes get a little distracted by it in what is otherwise a very engaging series
 
Very nice, I've never got that close to a Cuckoo unfortunately :(
The wire doesn't bother me personally as it's a concrete post anyway, wooden post I might have done ... personal prefs as always :)
Crop might show more of the bird though.

Thanks Jeff :) I actually like the barbed wire, I think along with the concrete it gives a nice contrast with the soft feathers of the bird. Also these are already heavily cropped and cropping further will probably start to affect the IQ.
 
Great bird in lovely light Paul (y)

I suppose the first thing that sprung to my mind about the concrete post and barbed wire, it shows its not taken at any well know baited sites (y)
