Mamiya 645 Manual Winder

So upon taking the camera out of its case, the winder fell off in my hand. It looks like the winder should just slot back on, albeit with a bit of force, but as the camera is not mine, I was not happy about trying it in case I broke it.

Anyone got any ideas about how to fix it back on?

It's a while since I used mine but shouldn't take any force, it just pushes/clips on.

If it's the same 645 I used to use then the handle will fall off most of the time, just a flaky design which you will hopefully get used to.

Well it goes on and stays there but then as soon as i move the camera it falls off. i'm pretty sure it's not broken though, i barely use it.

I'm sure you have to lock the advance and then push it on and turn it clockwise. Haven't used mine in a while so its a bit dim in my memory....

This is possibly where I'm going wrong. How would I 'lock the advance'? Thanks.

Turn the wind on without the handle until it cocks the shutter. It will then be locked in place.

That seemed to do the trick! it seems so simple now i think about it
