Mamiya adapter ring

I'm using a 50 mm C lens on my Mamiya RB67 SD. Supposedly, I need an adapter ring which I've also seen described as a "washer" Do I really need this ring as they are difficult to find? Everything seems to work without it.
Sorry if this has been asked before.

Hi Mick,

My 50mm C works fine on my RB67 ProS without any shinanegins (not an SD).

Probably worth asking for a shunt into the Film section for more eyes. Although if you can fit it on, and the images look ok, I'd say you're sorted.
