Manfrotto 190 tripod upgrade

Ive got the 055XPROB and find it comfortable for my height at 6ft2

Other option in an angled viewfinder like the seagull, much cheaper than the Nikon branded one.

Gitzo systematic would give you decent height without using a centre column. At full extension I have to stand on tiptoe (i'm 6ft tall) to see the top LCD of a Canon 5D, so should be OK for you

Have you thought about a carbon fibre tripod, less than 2kgs. I've got the 055 and it's as heavy if not heavier than the 190

The 055 is significantly bigger and heavier than the 190... I have both. Bought the 055 first then decided that I was fine crouching down a little to save the significant weight difference when hiking so got a 190 (carbon) a few years later.

At 6'2" the 055 was fine for me to shoot without crouching and without using the centre column IIRC.

Thanks this is the kind of reply I was hoping for I've got a Manfrotto Befree tripod for when out walking the 055 (or current 190) is if I specifically go out with the camera in the car for planned trips to certain places
