Hi there

I'm looking at picking up a second hand monopod and wondered (as I have one already) how suitable the 322RC2 grip action ball head would be.

Thanks.

In a word: Overkill!

Go for a simple tilting head instead.
I use the "Manfrotto 234RC Monopod Tilt Head with Quick Release" on my monopod and keep my 322RC2 on the tripod.

Overkill - That's what I wondered.

I have a three way head on my tripod but got the 322RC2 last year when I lost the use of my right arm for 4 months and it enabled me to continue photography albeit only on a tripod.

Now I'm in full working order again - I'd thought about switching back and thought it might save me the expense of a monopod head.

Indeed! the 322RC2 will get in the way and be really annoying.

I use the 234RC for my monopod. Works fine and is a big improvement over just mounting the camera (via lens tripod ring) directly to the monopod both for the quick release and also so you can tilt it.

Thanks - that looks the ticket and not as expensive as I thought.

I use a medium sized ball head.

A 322 would probably upset the balance of the monopod.

Cheers - I'll have a look.
