I've got the above head which was thrown in with a 300 f2.8 I brought. Question is.. The thread size to attach it to my monopod is bigger than the normal size, (im aware adaptors can be brought) I want to buy a tripod to use it on but do the bolts on tripods come in different sizes or do they get bigger on the more heavy duty tripods?
Cheers.
Carl.

They are standard (two sizes), the bolt on most tripods, and I suspect your monopod are usually reversible.

If you remove the top plate the bolt can be removed and turned the other way up.

I tried to reverse the monopod but nothing underneath the current fixing. I in screwed the top it but there's nothing underneath. Maybe because its not exactly a 'pro' model?

Strange, most I have seen have been reversible ... it was worth a look
