Yes
I looking at getting another monopod (sold last one :'() I know that manfrotto do a couple with feet - the 560B & 682B... I'm not all that keen on tripods but prefere monopods...

I know that these wont stand alone (like a tripod) with a camera on but mainly want it for support.. It will hold a Nikon 70-200mm VR & a Nikon D300s + MB-D10...

So am asking if anyone has used either of the above & are they any good

Cheers...

:runaway: Take it that no-one has any comments on this then...:coat:

Well, I got a Calumet carbon fibre monopod for £70 (in the Calumet sale) and a Manfrotto 234 tilt head for £12.95 from Amazon and I'm pretty impressed with both.

No feet though, but the 'pod does have a rubber/spike foot as standard

I use my 70-200VR, D300s & Grip on a Manfrotto 685B monopod, it's fantastic.

Are these easy to get your head around with John... Just that I was used to turning a couple of screws/knobs & letting the leg drop to the required length & was also used to the 234rc qr head...

Is that head easy to get use to

Yup, it was real easy to get to grips with (no pun intended).

Basically, it's got a little flippy out thing at the bottom that you put your foot on, grab the grip and pull it up to raise the height. Little finger hits a little lever to unlock the grip, then squeeze the grip to lower it.

I use the 234RC head on mine too, mounted sideways for a forward/back tilt rather than a side to side tilt, then I just use the lens's tripod collar to rotate between portrait and landscape orientation.

Cheers for that - might go for it, just look at it on Digi-D, somight email/bell stuart & see if he can do anything on it.....

Cheers John

I've got a 685b w/234RC2 too, and highly recommend it- can't really imagine using a conventional one anymore, the speed and convenience of the neotec mechanism is fantastic.

Seems like that it's gonna be the Manfrotto 685B then, with a 234rc head it seems...

Cheers for the input guys
