Manfrotto Befree Carbon Fibre Tripod £119.25

Nearly bought this yesterday. Decided against it as it's an old model with inflated RRP. Better value elsewhere now.

Well price has gone up a lot now, out of interest what is better value at similar price?

Imo features are basic for price. Modern carbon travel tripods...

* Have hook to add bag/weight
* Fold smaller
* Have panning facility
* Have spikes on feet
* Convert to monopod
* Have in-built spirit level(s)

First three important to me. Your preferences may vary.

I bought one of the budget C/F tripods from Amazon, daft really to expect all that much for the price especially as it includes a ballhead.
Not impressed and back it went, what look likes rubber grip is actually more like a large rubber band, ends up turning and the knob doesn't.

Bought a carbon Befree, ball head wasn't to my liking, mainly because I have all Arca plates and also not keen on the bulky and clunky Manfrotto Q/R
Have taken it to various locations around Europe and its come in very handy, no issues with build quality and 40cm folded is small enough to get in my rucksack.
Of course a bigger tripod would be more stable, but nice and light at a tad over 1kg, so yes 120 quid is in my opinion a good price.

I just bought the Manfrotto Element from Amazon (Warehouse) for £95 or so. Pretty impressed with it given the price, small and lightweight - not as bulky and strong as my Manfrotto 055cxpro3 but good for city breaks or times when I don't need a heavy duty one. One leg converts to a monopod and for once has an arca plate head so compatible with all my other mounts.

These Manfrotto tripods look suspiciously similar to the likes of K&F and Neewer that are offered up on Amazon.
