Anyone any thoughts on these two tripods?

Can you use the QR plate for a Manfrotto 190xprob on the BeFree head?

Thx

Julie,

I've had the Befree since the day it came out and I love it - small sturdy and light its perfect for travel mines been around Italy, London and its really easy to stick in my bag.
Only thing I would say though it its a little short perhaps at full height which can be a pain sometimes but I imagine that goes for all "travel" tripods

Thanks guys! I really like the Mefoto but don't know any owners. Ideally I want to use the Manfrotto plate on the tripod as I have the adapter for using it with the black rapid strap. I'm not sure you can use it on the Mefoto.

Hi Julie. You now know a Mefoto Road trip owner lol.

I must admit to not using tripods much (I have a much bigger Manfrotto as well) but I do like how small the Roadtrip is. It fits in my bag and is a lot less hassle to actually take out, so it gets the most use.
It was brought as a gift, and while I'm very greatful I do wish it was a carbon version. As small as it is it still adds to the weight I'm carrying. Not a big deal though.

One reason I wanted something like this is I hate the QR plates that Manfrotto use, and wanted a AS plate. The head that comes with the RoadTrip holds my Canon 5DMKIII with 24-70 f/2.8 MKII on it and there is no discernible movement from the head. Of course it's a bit flimsy when fully extended but again, it's more than usable with my modest sized gear and I avoid opening all leg sections.

Hi Dave

Thanks for the info. I just need to work out whether it will drive me mad having to unscrew the BR strap to attach to the Mefoto. Nothing is ever simple is it?

Nice present mind you!
