I bought this at the weekend and it's advertised as being airline carry-on compatible.

I've just done the math, and on depth it's 7cm over the dimension on Icelandair's website (I'm going to Iceland).

Does anyone have an experience of carrying this bag on planess? and if being 7cm over on depth will be an issue? I read one review that said removing the laptop from the bag will help getting in the overhead locker.

The problem with anything stating Carry on Compatible is that there's not a standard sizing across every airline.

I've never had an issue with a bag that was slightly too large, as long as it doesn't look massive they tend not to take too much interest but you are at the mercy of the ground staff, if it was a busy flight they could take exception to it.

Presumably as it's a backpack it's soft and can squeeze into the required space as long as you don't pack it too tightly?

As airlines allow you to take a camera around your neck, it is possible to put your camera, with your biggest lens on a strap around your neck, to give you more squashing ability !!
