Just bought 'Amateur Photographer' mag tonight, inside first page Manfrotto advertise their carbon fibre model M-Y 732CY-A3RC1 tripod kit for promotional price of £99.95 (usually priced at £199.95).

Were could this be purchased from I wonder? Has anyone here bought one and what you think of it? Does it come with a head etc?
 
Saw one in Jessops yesterday, wouldn't buy it myself - pencil thin legs, can't be very steady. The bottom sections can't be much thicker than 2 average pencils.

I would be using it with a gripped 5D and a EF 70-200mm lens, if it's that thin it probably wouldn't stick the pace with that weight, time to look elsewhere...
 
have asked the same question recently about this product, I cannot find the link now but it suggested the head was a fixed component not sure that is correct but a consideration if you want to change the head :shrug:
 
Oh yes, but with a maximum weight capacity of just 3.5kilos or 2.8 so as not to push it to the limit, fine for walking with light kit but don't place anything heavy on it, also being so light itself it sways in the wind and the legs flex especially the thinnest lower ones, and yes three of us have been to see one, will stick with alloy.

I note that people still appear also to fall for that 30 year old one, £100 off "suggested retail price", no shops ever sell at RRP or SRP, bet this will be the final price so no bargain here, give it a month and they will all be offering the same deals.
