Yes
You know, the little screws that attach to the centre column to hold your chosen head in place.

You guessed it, I've lost some.

2 out of 3.

Now I didn't even realise it was an issue, and after realising they're missing I've had a read around and some people don't even use them.

Are they important? Are there places you can buy spares? (preferably not manfrotto branded screws as they probably have a 400% premium)

I haven't noticed how long they've been missing and the one that is currently in there will probably go missing too so...

I've lost a couple (about 2 weeks after getting the tripod, some time ago) and worried about it for a while, was constantly checking that the head was attached and not loose etc.

After a while I have completely forgotten about them, until you reminded me. Thanks.:D

I swap heads quite regularly now, and dont use the 1 that's left (its taken off completely now) so i wouldn't worry about it unless you think your head is going to come off

Well you know what they say!

I'd lose my head if it wasn't screwed on!

I only noticed it when I changed my cruddy old takes-forever-to-set-up 390RC2 pan/tilt head to a brand spanking new I-can-be-set-up-in-milliseconds 488RC2 ball head :D

Try a chandlery shop that specialises in small boats and get a longish machine screw (stainless steel one for preference) with the right thread (take the tripod in with you to test the thread - it'll probably be a metric thread). Once you get it home, cut a few lengths to match the remaining screw and cut a slot in one end of each one. Make sure you tidy up the threads on the end and get the grub end (rather than the slotted end) to a similar shape as the original.

OR, make sure the remaining screw is tightened properly and keep a check on it so you don't lose that one. You could also try a phone call to the service department at Manfrotto and see if you can blag a few spares from them.

That would be the perfect idea if I had a workshop in my house :D

Thanks for the heads up though :)

I guess if you want replacements and MF can't help or are too expensive, take the last one you have to a model shop which specialises in 8th scale or larger radio controlled equipment, but they will probably have an internal hex head rather than a slot.

if you know what size it is and the thread. i can sort something for you at work and get it posted later this week.

Molegrips, junior hacksaw and a needle file - job done.

I think every one has lost at least one. I can't think why manfrotto don't make them captive, when they don't even show them as spares.

I expect every manfrotto user has at least one vibrating about in their car boot.

They are M6 ....8mm long slotted grub screws.
