Am I correct in thinking all Manfrotto tripods are interchangeable with all the Manfrotto heads ?

Various heads have different thread sizes, and it depends on the head that you use. The tripods are 3/8 and some of the video heads are also 3/8, but most photo heads are 1/4. Check the web site.

From Manfrotto's web site.......
"solid tripod/head plate has an industry standard 3/8" screw"

I believe that you're confusing the head to camera mount...this is usually 1/4" for camreas and small video cams but 3/8" for larger videos.

The tripod to head attachments is almost universally 3/8"

Bob, I'm sorry, when I said "head " I meant head to camera, and when I said tripod I meant tripod plate to head. I agree absolutely with your comments. Sorry if there was any confusion, muddled brain on my part!!
