Anyone use such technical gubbins? I've heard them mentioned a few times as some kind of clamping God. But they look pretty basic to me, and I can't work out from pics (Calumet website) how you would make anything useful.

For example, I want a clamp end to fix to a tube, with an arm coming out say 18"-24" with a ball head on the end for my camera.

Is this doable? Am I looking at the right bits and pieces? And what would I need?

Superclamps are life savers, they really are great bits of kit to keep in your grip box. The magic arms are useful too, they can be locked rock solid in just about any position and have a ball head at each end for further positioning. The majic arm has a spigot at each end so you'd need a spigot to camera plate adaptor, there's several of these on the market too.

Here's the sort of set-up you'd probably need:

NB, I've never purchased from this company before

I use autopoles with superclamps to support lights and other gubbins. Quick, easy, versatile and strong.

Cheers guys, I now have a couple of 'bits' on order from MorrisPhoto. Hoping they arrive by the weekend so I can have a play.
