I decided to venture up beyond the snow line for this shot. I took quite a few around the lake,Llyn Manod, before walking up to this vantage point.

Many thanks for all the comments. For once the clouds were exactly where I wanted them. It was rather slippery and I almost landed on my sheepdog after one fall

I spoke to a member of the local mountain rescue team this morning. Cader Idris is like a death trap....thick ice. Pen y pass was opened yesterday and thay expect to be very busy with the tourist wearing trainers etc walking up Snowdon !!

I ended up paying a farmer £2 to park

I have driven through that valley for years and I have never seen it like that before.
