Hi,
Just asking would you buy one Manufacturer refurbished D700 from Calumet? Price is £1299 with under 200 clicks. Not to sure?!

Calumet - great to deal with if it's refurbed anything like Apple does it's stuff. Go for it... wish I had the dollar to buy it meself :)

No, because in my experience Nikon 'refurbs' aren't refurbished at all, all they get is a cursory inspection and back out they go.

The camera has been returned for a reason - 200 shots would suggest a fault rather than it being an 'open box' return and as neither of the last two Nikon refurbs I've bought showed signs of having had the original fault repaired, I'd give it a miss.
 
I would have no problem going with a refurbished camera. Heck...you know they fixed the problems...it's likely better than a random new one off the assembly line.

And 200 clicks on this level of camera is a literal drop in the bucket of what the camera is capable of doing.

I could only wish to find one at a similar price. Here in the U.S. they are very hard to find, and command a premium price.
 
Go for it, if the fault is still there return it as "not fit for purpose" .

Ive had 2 canon refurbs and both have had problems..... but they were fixed under the full warranty and a hell of a lot cheaper than a *new* one. So i'd say go for it but expect to get it repaired.

Just to clarify, these cameras aren't, despite what Calumet may claim 'manufacturer refurbished', the work, for want of a better word, is carried out by Johnsons Photopia.

Agree with every word! 200 shots - something's not right...

I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.
