Marathon

Body, I'd take my 7D as that's my primary body, but I'd honestly take it over pretty much any other body out there, works perfectly for me. I see you've a 1D3, that will be more than good enough.

Lenses... I'd take my 17-55 f2.8, and 200mm f2.8L prime. Ideally I'd take, if I owned, a 70-200 f2.8 II instead of my 200mm prime, purely for the added flexibility.

Hi, what body/lens combo would you take to the London Marathon, for both spectator and competitor photography.
Cheers

I'll be taking the only body i own, D5000, with my 18-200mm as a main lens and 35mm prime as well. I plan to head for one of the quieter spots with (hopefully) a decent backdrop.

For runner it should be smth from james bond collection "camera in the ring" *** you can imagine competitor running in marathon with FX body + 24-70 + 70-200 :D

I'd go for 1D and 70-200f2.8.

Hi, had a great time today! Don't have the fabled 70-200 lens, so instead took the 200 f2.8, paired with a 1D3. Although I also took another body and another couple of lenses, I used this combo about 80% of the time. The other body has somewhat pedestrian AF, the 1D3 barely skips a beat. Plenty of people there with the 70-200, doesn't half stand out. Best thing about my 200 f2.8 (the mk1 with built in hood) is that it is black and relatively inconspicuous.
Will post a flickr link in due course.
Cheers

I went to Canary Wharf, I know the area well from a previous life, and knew that I could likely shoot in shade or sunlight if I wanted to. I will post a few up here, Flickr links generally not great idea.
