I had a stroke of luck Alby! Discovered that I had been missing out over a few years on an line managers allowance at work. Got it all paid back. Fortunately, there was enough for a 2nd hand purchase of said lens.
Took some quite good snaps of a Fox too with the same lens at the same place. They're in the animal forum. I'll have a peek at your Lakeside pics tonight cos the work pc has a block on links to flickr, photobucket etc...
