Anybody know if i can get this from a DIY store.

I want to 'ruggedise' my camera with gaffer tape on points of wear. Popped into local (small) B+Q lunch time and they only had the shiny plastic stuff, was looking for the matt fabric type.

Cheers!!

You might be looking in the wrong place.

It's not in the electrical section, but drainage, and they call it Duct Tape!

Hi Mark,

can you get matt duct tape - i was only aware of the shiny stuff.

ps a colleague has suggested to try some stage / prop people...

Or any motorsport supplier, who might call it tank tape. All race cars are held together with it  . I take a reel in my toolbox to any event where I am competing.

Never seen anything other than the bog standard semi shiny to be honest...

...that's exactly what gaffer is!

Nooooo duct tape and gaffer tape are very different!

Gaffer tape is thicker, lightproof and has better adhesive and is generally awesome, and as a general rule, mif ours paying less than 6 a roll, it's not gaffer tape ;)

You know that, I know that, but B&Q haven't got a scoobie!

And yup, I know which one I was buying! :p

PS - it's also melt proof going by what's holding together the ceramic top on my girlfriend's cooker at the moment!
