Do you know what are the differences between the following lenses? Which one I should go for?

1)Tamron SP 90mm F2.8 1:1 Adaptall Macro, know it is MF
2)Tamron SP AF Macro 90mm f/2.8
3)Tamron SP AF 90mm F/2.8 Di 1:1 Macro

I use both digital and film SLR.thanks in advance.

they are essentially different generations (oldest>youngest the way that you have ordered them) of the same lens.
The adaptall as you mentioned being MF only with the other 2 having AF or MF.

What specific bodies were you looking at putting it on?

consider with the price, i would prefer 2 than 3 if they are more or less the same. however, is there any big difference between 2 & 3? such as quality wise?
 
I have no.3 and for the money it's cracking!
Can't comment on the difference between the 2 but this may give the thread a little bump and someone that has experience of both may come along with some answers!
 
I had the Tamron SP AF 90mm F/2.8 Di 1:1 Macro lens on my Nikon D3100. I sold it to fund a new D7000. Its a great lens and I will be getting another sometime. Its a new revised model for digital cameras with better coating etc. If funds allow I would go for the latest model, there is some good ones about go. One thing to remember is that the latest models differ in that one has the inbuilt motor and the other doesn't. I didnt realise this when I got mine of ebay but I used manual focus anyway. Also I think there is a brand new model coming out anytime.

Maybe not but it will also drive down the price of the 3rd one in your list which is the one I use!
VC on a macro isn't really that necessary IMO as you'll regularly be using flash and again a faster focusing motor,most Macro is manual focus!
So may be able to grab a bargain with the 3rd one on your list!
 
The Adaptall is a decent MF lens with a reputation for being very sharp, which can be fitted to just about any camera with the use of the correct mount adapter (hence the name). Clever system from Tamron in the 70s and 80s before electronics made this kind of thing too difficult.

The only downsides I've heard of are that it's rather prone to flare and benefits greatly from a hood (though apparently this may not entirely cure the problem on digital if you have bright highlights in the scene - apparently the flat rear element can cause internal reflections on digital sensors); expect a fair bit of axial chromatic aberration if shooting wide open.
